Blenheim Forge

Knife crafting trio, James Ross-Harris, Jon Warshawsky, Richard Warner of Blenheim Forge.

Where are you all from?

James is from Cornwall, Jon is from Israel and Rich is from near Portsmouth.

When did you first start Knife production?

We started producing knives about 4 years ago from a forge we built in our back garden.

How would you define “Maverick”?

A maverick is someone who has a plan and sticks to it.

How would you define “Maverick”?

There is an old man called Barry who lives opposite our workshop, he once built a pedal powered aeroplane and launched it on Blenheim Grove, he flew about 100 meters before crashing into the side of a nearby building. He walked away unhurt and that was the end of his aeronautical career. We're not entirely sure why, but there’s something about this grumpy old man that inspires us.

What is your favourite piece of work you have ever done?

It’s hard to pick a specific piece as our work is constantly progressing and evolving. When you're making a knife there is always room to improve it.

What about Charles Heidsieck do you most identify with?

Although we don’t share the same long heritage as Charles Heidsieck, our values are very similar in that we both strive for the highest level of quality in what we do and are not afraid to take risks to attain this.

What are your most ‘maverick’ qualities?

We're never satisfied.

How has working with Charles Heidsieck inspired you, creatively?

What experience can the guests attending expect? Guests will get the opportunity to better understand the work that goes into the knives we produce and experience the joy of forming white hot steel with a hammer!
